Introduction
In this sermon, we explore the concept of divine favor and how it manifests in our lives. Divine favor is not just about receiving blessings, but about walking in alignment with God's purposes.
What is Divine Favor?
Divine favor is God's special affection for you that releases an influence on you, which causes others to be attracted to you and to desire to help, assist, and benefit you.
For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. - Psalm 5:12
Biblical Examples of Divine Favor
Joseph
Joseph experienced divine favor even in the midst of difficult circumstances. In Genesis 39:21, we read, "But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison."
Esther
Esther found favor with the king, which positioned her to save her people. Esther 2:17 says, "The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti."
How to Position Yourself for Divine Favor

- Cultivate humility James 4:6 reminds us that "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
